My second project for the contest.I must admit it take a long time before I found what I could possibly do.My first thought was a vest will always stay a vest. Finally I thought I could do something medieval inspiration .I decided to not buy any fabric to do it and use what I have.
The original pattern no 126: vest from Greece and Poland , a long and short version of vests.
The final result: a surcot , a sleeveless dress to wear over a dress.I use 2.3m of wool flannel .I did eyelets (by machine) in the front to close it with a white wax linen .The side and the back are open from the hip.I did embroideries at the collar , the front , the bottom and all around the open part .The back is made of one piece , the original is done of three parts for the half .
A view of the back
A close-up of the eyelet and the collar
I to admit, I like your second project a lot more than the western inspired vest. Guess I'm not a fan of Far West an cowboy hats and the likes, but you know I love Medieval!
